The Development Responsibilities
- Self-organizing and Whole Team Accountability
- No appointed team leader
- You either succeed or you fail…..but either way….you do it as a TEAM.
- Delivers a Product Increment
- It is the sum of the Product Backlog Items delivered each Sprint.
- Delivering Potentially Releasable Product each Sprint is fundamental to the Scrum, because when work is divided into simple pieces it can be finished in a short iterations.
- Requires team collaboration and the right team composition
- Manages the Sprint Backlog and Sprint Progress Tracking
- They create and maintain the sprint backlog and track sprint progress.
The Development Team Authority
- Self-Organize
- Sign up for work rather than be assigned work
- Determine who works on what and when
- Empowered to organize and manage their own work
- This optimizes the team’s efficiency and effectiveness
- Provide their own estimates
- Only members of the development team create increments (the sum of all the product backlog items completed during the sprint)
- Decide what they are committing to during a sprint
- Determine “How” things get done, not “What” gets done
- No one is allowed to tell the Development Team to work from a different set of requirements and the Development Team isn’t allowed to act on what anyone else says.
